Latinity — album cover

The album Latinity was born from a simple idea: to compose original music inspired by the rhythmic and melodic traditions of Latin America and Spain, and bring it to life through a collective musical adventure.

Jean Coadou developed the initial idea into fourteen original compositions, shaped over time through rehearsals and discussions within the quartet.

Although Latin influences are at the core of the album, the musical journey occasionally ventures further afield. For Lyle pays tribute to pianist Lyle Mays, while Osaka draws inspiration from Japan.

Recorded in Thionville, France, over two sessions in 2022 and 2024, Latinity reflects the pleasure of four friends making music together, sharing ideas, listening to one another and allowing every piece to find its own identity.
